Myofibrils are long contractile fibres, groups of which run parallel to each other on the long axis of the muscle fiber.

The Z-line defines the boundary of the sarcomere in striated muscle and bisects the I-band of neighbouring sarcomeres.

Myosin is the primary component of the thick filament. Hence can be called as Unit of Thick Filament.

Actin is the primary component of the thin filament.
